📣 May 7: LPG gas cylinder price crosses Rs. 1000 in Pondicherry. After nationwide hike of Rs. 50, a 14.2 kg cylinder costs Rs. 1012 

📣 Madras HC says Pondicherry Municipality can recover cost incurred to remove flexes and banners from those who erected these banners on streets- in response to a PIL filed by a resident on the large number of banners installed around the city on occasion of Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit. “There is a drastic increase in the culture of pasting posters & erecting flex banners in Puducherry ” : Petitioner.

📣 April 15: Fishing Ban comes into effect in Puducherry : Annual fishing ban of 61 days from April 15- June 14 has been imposed. All fishing vessels- except traditional craft like catamarans, dinghies and canoes- are not permitted for fishing activities in this period

📣 April 15: Train Mishap : 3 coaches of Dadar-Puducherry Express derailed near Matunga, Mumbai at 9.45 p.m.  No injuries have been reported according to Central Railway. Cause is yet to be known.

📣Parking on the parallel roads to Beach Road (eg Rue Dumas, Rue St Louis, near Promenade Hotel, near Old Court etc) will not be permitted from April 13 evening to April 16 night due to the four day Beach Festival. Those visiting Beach Road are asked to park their vehicles in the Old Port premises, according to a press release by Traffic Police.
