New Puducherry District Collector
E. Vallavan, an I.A.S officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as the new District Collector of Puducherry.
He replaced Purva Garg as District Collector with effect from January 5 by the order of the Lieutenant Governor.
He will continue to hold his posts as Secretary to the Government (Local Administration, Excise, Information and Publicity) and Commissioner of Excise, according to a press release.
Mr. Vallavan has previously served in various capacities in the government including as Labour Commissioner and Director of School Education.
